I have access to a large amount of corn fields. I recently hunted them several times with no success and am wondering, when is the best time to deer hunt cornfields. during harvest, after harvest, and when is a bad time to hunt them, month after harvest or anytime the corn isnt up.

I have found that as soon as the corn is harvested, the deer are in it getting spilled grain. Most particularly if the corn was shelled late in the season. The deer seem to abandon other food sources to get that corn.
Set up near the cover where they bed and watch the wind.

Good advice from Douglas. If the corn is still up, set up near points of entry and egress to the field from nearby timbers, water and fence rows. They like to stay in the corn to feed and hide but the travel out of them constantly. Once it is harvested, they bed in thicker surroundings and come to the field to feed. During season, most of that feeding is nocturnal because the know they stick out like a sore thumb. If hunting pressure is light, you should see them enter the fields just before dark.

The deer will hide in there forever as they know you cant see them well, or even at all. I would look for the main exits and entrances as they have to come out for water. They have food so they wont travel for that.
