I've been hunting white tail on game land in Western Nc. Once in a tree stand and once on the ground. Neither time did I see a deer. Each time I've used a few calls, I sit still, listen, glass, use scent controls etc. I've called in a black bear (though I couldn't get a shot on him) and a very large coyote. What can I do to bring in the deer???

Are you in a area with deer sign? No sign, no deer. Double check your scouting.
    Good luck.

Short term post rut you can't really bring them in. Hunt food sources and make sure you are in an area with deer. There may be a very low deer pop there or you could just be in the wrong area.

It was very active last year (I know things change) I've seen some new paths, no tracks (ground was frozen first time and raining the second) and one scrape. This morning right after day break I heard two shots fairly close, so I know they are around.

Patience! Two hunts won't tell you a thing about a hunting area. If I judge by that I would not be hunting today.
