Yeah woodcock are migratory here in Ohio but I take care of all the stamps and stuff when I buy my lincess at the start of the season.I decided to just let the woods cool off for a while so I can have a fresh stand to hunt Thanksgiving morning!

drew, nothing wrong with one of those big does, as long as it does not have a fawn with it.

Is woodcock a migratory bird in your state and requires a fed migratory bird stamp? That may answer your questions.

Carry your Shot gun at Port Arms, use #8 or 9/Shot
be ready, keep your eye at the top of the trees, have some red or orange ribbons to mark down birds. OR do an other in your stand the weekend is coming up more hunters in the woods move more deer!

While I did see 5 deer tonight I dont think any were bucks. All were does grouped back up. Guess the rut is about over. However I did jump about 6 woodcock on my way back from the stand in the dark. Im thinking about taking a day off from deer and going small game for squirrel/woodcock tomorrow morning for a little while. Anyone have any advice for jump shooting woodcock? I saw alot of them and this farm has alot of marshy wet spots close to thick cover. I dont have a dog to really get in at them. Any advice. Or should I go hit the tree stand?
