I was bow hunting and had the biggest buck I ahd seen all season withing 20 yrds. I drew and had a perfect broadside shot. As i released I heard a very loud snapping sound. The carbon arrow I had shot broke in half the second my string put pressure on it. Half of the arrow was found about 60yrds out in the cut corn field. The other half was splintered in my left arm. Luckily it barley hit my are just sticking into the skin. Scariest day I have ever had while hunting.

Ah wuz returning from a on-foot deer hunt up in the hills outside of town when I noticed maybe a dozen hunters hiding in wait of game coming down that very same trail.
Ah wz wearin mah buckskin shirt and skunk hat.
There wuzza herd of deer sneaking behind 'em mebbe 20 yards farther down the trail.
Two scenarios for gittin shot in one encounter.

While working as a warden, I saw a group of about 20 hunters line up for a drive through an unpicked corn field - the rest of their group was lined up as standers on the other side of the corn field. As we watched from our squad car we heard shots and the tick, tick, tick of bullets coming at us through the corn stalks. Needless to say we got out of there until the shooting stopped. We returned and to our amazement, no one was shot....

Well, back in my younger, more foolish days, I used to dress in nice looking western style shirts, , tight Wranglers, boots and a black Resistol. After gettin' all shaved up and slicked back, I would go huntin' for women. One night I stumbled into a biker bar, and found a lady that was fascinated by cowboys. Now, you talk about a dangerous experience......

Getting attacked by animals is probably the most dangerous although I've been almost killed by my own stupidity several times. The worst animal attack was by a monster 10 point buck that charged me. He knocked the gun out of my hand and we went round and round in the timber for about 20 minutes. I ended up suffocating him and was so tired and beat up, I couldn't stand for about another 20 minutes. I've also had two attacks from 300+ pound Russian boars that I was fortunate to survive. In one case, the dog at my feet was not so fortunate.
