az do you have an elk tag? and it is late november at the earliest so you will usually see mature deer chasing doe's in late november early december especially since it looks like it is going to be a cold one up here in the high country. It all depends on the weather, and a million other things but the rule tends to be higher elevations earlier with desert mullies and coues being in late december/early january. but this is not a perfect rule i saw a nice 3x4 whitetail pushing doe's in early november last year, and i saw a mulie pushing doe's in almost march two years before that.

Thank you mike0714. So up in Flag. and Prescott areas it should be around late Nov. or earlier. I have a bit to learn. Can not wait to try bow hunting elk. I know when they came in rut. Thanks again.

late december early january is when the rut hits full swing here in az. at higher elevation the rut may hit a little earlier (late november at the earliest)

When do whitetail deer and mule deer come into the rut in Arizona? What triggers the rut here? I was told they come into the rut later than they do in the northeast. I want to thank everyone that helped with my earlier request.
