i dont have the money for a range finder how hard is it to take a guess at which pin i should use or is there any other tips ive never bow hunted this will be my first year

The easiest way to measure distance without a range-finder is to use markers. You can use different tactics for this. I use different colored markers (each signifying different ranges i.e. 10 yd, 20 yd etc) and put them on trees that distance from your stand. You can do that in all four directions from your stand or just one or two. Also practice shooting from your stand because the more you do that, the better you will be at judging distances in the woods.
