    For my 18.5-inch 7400, I chose the Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40 BDC. Been very pleased with it.

    Its all about were you hunt, Heavy dense woods or open country/green fields,power lines/woods?
    For heavy woods a good Fixed Power scope 4x32,6x32,a 2-7x40 or 3-9x40 are good for all around use for your 270 or 30-06.
