For the states that got it by EHD badly, do you think there will be less tags out there or no deer season for a year?

I think most states would have to have had mortality in the tens of thousands before it would be significant enough to warrant a reduction in tags offered, and an even more significant number to cancel an entire season.

western MI was slammed by EHD, this past season doe tags were reduced from 5 per day to 5 per season...granted 5 per season is still a lot of does by most peoples standards. buck regs remained unchanged.

Here in WV we have had times of the disease but have never reduced tags or closed season. Our bouts with the disease have been in isolated areas and usually between 10 and 30 deer have been found. It has never reached a dangerous proportion.

I think maybe a reduction in tags but not close the season for the year.
