The climate is changing and the earth is warming. That is fact. You can argue if you wish as to why but unless you are a scientist who specifically studies this your comments on it are just regurgitated hash. I happen to believe the enormous majority of the worlds scientists who say that man is contributing to it.
Regarding how it effects my hunting: there is no snow anymore during deer season. Tracking a buck in the big woods without snow is pretty tough.

As a varminter in Oregon, I seem more at the mercy of the weather on a day-to-day basis (micro-environment) and the alfalfa harvests than the climate (macro-environment). The seasonal precipitation seems unaffected, but the weather varies a bit and provides an occasionally unseasonable chill or unusually warm day.

From my experience, when it starts to get cold in the fall and winter, the deer hunting is good, and when it starts to get warm in the in the spring and summer the fishing is good. Other than this, "climate change" doesn't exist.

I dress according to the weather conditions when I venture forth. I don't even believe the weather man. He knows we are going to have snow the same way we know we are going to have snow: when he sees it lying on the ground.

99- on the lobster boat we often say how much we would like to have the local weather man tied to the bow, and see if he'll still tell us that there isn't going to be any wind today.

When it changed in 1964, the exceptionally high snow made me exit the second floor door all winter and caused me to dig a tunnel down to my mink pens. When it changed the next year, I had to sell my snowmobile because there wasn't enough snow to run it. It continues to change every year as it has for the last million years and the changes always impact me one way or another.

Dallas, some people can't see the forest for the trees! They have such a small narrow thought process that they can only identify with what is immediately around them, and if someone agrees with them then it is true! Ms. Jolin represents that. To her a few warm winters and hot summers justify her agreeing with phony science based on flawed computer modeling that has been proven inaccurate countless times along with these so called scientists stretching numbers to get the feed back they need to get that next grant. There have been many former proglobal warming scientists that have came out and blew the whistle but people like Ms. Jolin like most good sheep demonize them saying they were infiltrators trying to stir the pot. Explain the fact that the Antartic ice has been expanding dramatically? Why is it only the Artic that is studied? Because they can get the data they need there all the while ignoring the neon green Elephant in the room. Don't any of you find it funny when a weather event such as a blizzard happens it is blamed on GW? When theres a heat wave, earthquake, volcano, etc... its blamed on GW!


Ms. Jolin and whomever else before you ask me to show who defuncted from the GW science community and about the computer modeling, I have already produced probably close to a few hundred links and articles to what I'm saying. So if your not to lazy you can go back through my profile and read the answers and comments. I will not go through the process of reposting because some are to lazy to do the research themselves.

Finally climate change is real but not like the global warming community argues. There are fluctuations in this complicated place we call earth that effect climate and weather. In 2004-2007 we had extreme cold and snow. We received several storms dumping 2' of snow each which is highly uncommon normally we will get one major snowfall a year of 8". The summer of 2007 (I think) was one of the coolest summers I could remember and my parents agreed along with local weather people. Last summer was one of the hottest I can remember I actually got used to the 100 degrees which was uncommon here in Ohio. The winter of 2010 was the warmest and wettest anyone I know could remember also. This winter happens to be somewhat normal other than the few day stretch we hit 60 degrees which isn't unheard of. The thing is no of this paragraph matters because it is all a minute in time.

Growing up in the ADKs I could remember having tracking snow from early-mid-November straight through the hunting season. Now, snow accumulation and retention before December or even January seems to be a rare occurrence. Tracking snow is important for big woods hunters because there are not as many funneling features as in the more fragmented woodlots of farm country. I also remember the winters being much more harsh then they are today (more days of sub-zero temperatures and deeper snows for longer periods of time). The final product of this is more deer in my ADK hunting area because doe harvest is not allowed and more deer are surviving the winters. It will only take a couple of harsh winters to put the population back in check, but we cannot predict if and when those winters will occur. In the mean time, we hunt a population of deer that is primarily does, and without good tracking snow, buck hunting is difficult to say the least. Most seasons end with an empty freezer for my family members as of late.
