Hi guys I put out a 5 pound trophy rock two weeks ago (it's legal in my state after the first week of Jan) near my tree stand. I checked yesterday and it gone-- completely disappeared. I don't see any track nearby, nor human footprint (it's been raining in the last few days). Any explanation? Thanks

I think some low life jacka$$ stole it. Two weeks is too soon. If your area filled up with water, then it could possibly dissolved in the water.
Put another block out and set up a motion trail camera facing the block. Hide the trail cam with pine branches. The theif may return to the crime scene. Use a lock on your trail cam, or that may disappear, also. If you catch him in the act with a photo, then call your Conservation Officer. Happy trail cam hunting!

i agree with Gary, a couple years ago, i had a trail cam set up on my friends property, and got a picture of a monster buck (who is still alive). A few weeks later we went out to check it and BAM, the camera, corn meal rock, everything was gone. Now i have a stealth cam and i wont put it up without its safety box with 4 inch screws in the tree. Lock up your tail cam!

Hey! I am a lowlife Jacka$$ (at least according to my one of my ex’s and her friends), but I am NOT a thief. We lowlifes are insulted you would put someone who would steal a mineral block in the same category as us. Maybe it was a of the bottom feeder congressman or lobbyist. I hear hear they will steal anything.

Rocky there might have a point. You did not say what state you live in and with New York banning salt and sodas in resturants maybe the salt police took it so the deer dont become addicted, overweight. But in all seriousness I have had some out now for two years and with snow and rain they are still there.
