what is better to hunt on private or public?

    I prefer hunting on privately owned land for the safety factor also. Our clubs leases land and we have sign in boxes so you know who is in there and where they are at. Plus on private land you can manage your deer herd, on public land you have greedy people that are just looking for numbers and kill anything that walks by, in the end you have no deer.
