If these are high fence ranches I think it is cheap and shows a lack of integrity. It may not be cheating by the letter of the law but I think it shows something about a persons character.

Beef cattle get slaughtered when they get old enough, this is essentially the same thing.

You are just paying a bunch of money so that you can wear camo and call yourself a "hunter" while you are doing it.

I don't see anything "ethically wrong" with it if you want to do it, but I have absolutely no desire to.

Just don't kid yourself into thinking that its hunting.

Personally, I would find it more rewarding to shoot a doe using fair chase methods than shooting a giant buck on a farm.

I agree with all of you on this subject. Most places pick the deer they want you to shoot. I even saw on VS. hunting in Texas where they shot from the truck. They were just driving along spotted the buck and shot. Never even bothered to get out. That is crazy to me.

i think that it is not fair because all that is in there is just big deer but if you have the money i guess that you can do what you want to. i like the adventure of tracking the big deer and getting them.

I have two categories for deer hunters.

Antler hunters. People who are stricly after big bucks to hang on their wall.

Meat Hunters. People who deer hunt to provide food for his family.

I think it takes away from the sense of accomplishment when you kill a deer. But if its fenced in and deer are forced to stay in a certain area well its pretty much not fair for them. I'd feel more proud of killing a deer that is not on a game ranch.

Sorry, its not for me. It is killing, not hunting. It has all the thrill of hunting in a zoo... sorry... What I find rewarding in the hunt is seeing God's country and animals in their natural environment and trying to outwit a wiley adversary. I can understand that not everyone feels that way. Maybe I'll open a zoo and charge people $3,000 to stick their rifles through the bars and get the thrill of a bona fide kill. I'll probably be rich... can't wait... NOT!
