What is the best way to condition my gundog prior to this years pheasant season?

If you can take them teal hunting, that is great conditioning. The teal season usually arrives before pheasant season and they can stay cool in the water. Of course this presumes your dog can swim. I hunted both with a lab and she got plenty of exercise doing this and it really got her in the mood to hunt. Also, make sure your dog stays outdoors so their sense of smell is not corrupted by being in the house. If you can't hunt, at least make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise.
