I'm with peter. My mossberg 100atr 06 kicks like a 243.{I am only 13}. There are some though that will kick like a mule. I recommend a mossberg 100atr. 0 kick.Great for young ones.

Not bad at all. I would say they kick as much as a 20 gauge single shot with slugs.

Ishawooa had a good site posted a while ago called beartoothbullets.com and it has a cool recoil calculator that works pretty well, try it out

Personally I don't think that it is too bad, but I would not recommend it for a young or beinning shooter.

I would say that a good comparison for the .30-06 would be to shoot a light 3" or a heavy 2 3/4" 12ga. load. That should give you an approximate idea of how much recoil it will have. Also, you need to remember that felt recoil is different for everyone due to the fact of the positioning of the gun in one's shoulder, the person's physical build, whether or not the gun fits the shooter, and what type of clothes the shooter has on at the time.
