Ishawooa has expressed a very tasteful choice with which I can't disagree, but I guess I'll go with the FN Mauser Supreme.

If your going to build a gun, the 03-A3 is tops!

Bolt action or lever action, it just depends on the mood I am in. If I had to choose only one it would be the bolt.

I love a bolt gun, preferebly one with controlled round feeding.

Sako bolt action from Finland. Next to that would be the Mauser bolt action

Ed J: You selected my equally favorite action by stating the FN but since my Sakos outnumber my solitary FN I did not mention it. Once I had two Browning Safaris in highly figured non-salted wood both of which were built on FN actions. The .270 was the smoothest bolt gun I have ever owned.

I like as much rifle action as possible.

Only one mention of Remington 700? Crazy. Ask the custom builders. They use it a lot. My unknown secret guy won't touch anything else.
