Yes, they usually stand up after the proper whistle. I have been using this trick for over 50 years. Whistle pig. I also have stopped deer with a whistle to give a better shot.

You can make the whistle with a .22 brass. Bite it so it isn't quite round, and blow into it like you do a jug. They should rear up and take a look. If for some reason that won't pop them up, try a hawk scream. Usually, they'll look up for a bit to see if they can spot the hawk (i guess), but they don't stay up long. Would you?

Approach any field that may hold a pig...and whistle, preferably loud. If there are any pigs in the field, they'll stand up and present a shot. We've taken many this way.

They make a short high pitched whistle. If you have one in a hole you may be able to whistle him out.

You bet they do, when I hit them with my 22-250 and 25-06, they go “POP”!

Yes, I have heard some folks call them whistle pigs. They are most noted for their whistling, chirping squeal.

It seems Twitter has blocked Sidney's account. Must be getting close to a dirty nerve.
