on youth bows you can sometimes just push down on top with bottom on carpet, watch your fingers for pinch points though. otherwise you can find a door opening in house or window opening in car/truck(i have older vehicles) where you can put some rags between limbs and contact spots, then take a ratchet strap hooked around riser and hook to a pole(in basement) or run strap through cab and out other window and down to frame of truck. i have done both ways with a few different older bows. the new bows would be tough because of parralel limbs.

dirty has some good ideas... but they might be a little risky...
You might be able to sweet talk soomebody at a local shop to just let you do it there...
You can try and build a homemade bow press... look online at models for ideas.
Just don't get slapped upside the face! Good luck!

If your bow has limb bolts simply back them out until the tension is off the string, install the new string and retighten the bolts. As you back the bolts out don't forget to count the turns. Makes it much easier to return to your original position. It's easier if you don't take the bolts all the way out-stop when you can comfortably manage the string.
