    I have a Browning Bushmaster that is about 25 years old, and has been stored un strung. The string shows some wear and needs to be replaced. Other than that it looks good. Any reason I couldn't fire it?

    Take it to a pro shop and have it checked out. They can fix you up with a new string also.
