I just harvested my first grouse, so I don't have much experience, but I found a good covey on a little flat mesa ringed with pines, in an area that had lots of aspen and small shrubs and berries. Also bring within about 300 yards of water seems to be a good bet at this time of year. As the fall continues they will move up higher in Speed Test elevation.

I would contact the Colorado Wildlife Department.
The staff working there should be able to help.

Sorry, I can't help You,but i did find "Grouse Heaven" in Wadesboro NC.
I have a friend that lives there Him & I are the only Grouse Hunters from what He tells me. The hills are full of laurels & wild grapes.
