    First of all, I wouldn't use a shotgun. Wouldn't that just rip the bird to shreds?

    Anyway, you should aim at the chest, right below the neck. SHould be a clean kill. DON'T AIM FOR THE HEAD, YOU'LL MISS LOL...

    All you really need is a shotgun, some shells capable of taking down your bird of choice, and then some calls. Those are the basics. Make yourself a little blind over a body of water or food source (if legal) and you'll be ready to go.
