Where I hunt in Kansas it looks like there are plenty of Jakes and Toms out there. Today's KC Star has an article about MO's seaon starting tomorrow. They expect success to be very poor. The drought here in Georgia has kept the hatch down the past 3-4 years. Last year we had a decent hatch for a change. I've seen lots of jakes and they have been gobbling their heads off! This is a sure sign older birds are scarce. Hope some of them make it to next year. We have been really wet and cold this spring so far. Looks like the makings for another bad hatch...
