depends on the game and terrain. horses work good for elk country, i usually hunt on foot for deer and have used snowmobiles for caribou in alaska.

i usually use pick up or a kawaski mule for deer and feet or the mule for turkey, and foot for everything else all the way.

I think on foot is the only way to go. ATV 's ruin the experience in nature. But if its rough country, i would use a horse.

Please, not an ATV. I get sick and tired of still hunting through the timber just to have one of those things come roaring up and ensureing I won't see game for miles. From what I have heard horses are good to get you into an area stealthely but you need to be down on foot looking around, one step at a time.

My favorite is to hunt areas that do not allow mechanical transportation and then hike farther than most will go so I can hunt an area that receives little pressure.

On foot - it helps me to limit what I carry to only what I need. Plus it feels more like hunting to me.
