Big OR small? A 12gauge shotgun. I would use a Mossberg 500 pump.

Whichever rifle is in my hands and is appropriate to the situation is my favorite of the moment, but if you asked which centerfire rifle I use most often, it would be the Winchester Model 70 in .250 Savage. This bolt action has performed well on deer, coyotes and smaller pests, and all I've needed to do is reach for different handloads to accommodate the game and the terrain. Over the years, it has proven to be one of the most versatile rifles I've owned.

For big game I would have to go with my Remington 7mm mag, and for birds it would be my Beretta O/U in 12ga.
