Many parts of hunters Wild Africa Safari tented camps are often located on banks of rivers or lakes. It is neat after our bed time to hear hippos grunting, gurgling and farting as they leave a river and feed by our tents in the darkness and again on their return to their home water. You may also hear elephant, lion, or hyena. When you camp in real wilderness bush, the animals rule the night.

Sorry, I suppose my "spooky" was mostly rhetorical.

No need to be sorry. Wish all could safely experience it. I have been so lucky

I used Kynoch ammunition in a 500 Nitro Express double rifle I borrowed up on the Caprivi Strip many decades ago. The few solid rounds I used all worked fine.

Somewhere, in one of my ammo boxes or in the depths of some other storage, I have a full box, 5 rounds, of Kynoch .375 H&H. They ain't cheap!
                    .375 H&H Belted Magnum
The .375 Belted Rimless Magnum Nitro Express needs no introduction. It is considered by many as the most versatile cartridge ever produced. Introduced by Holland & Holland in 1912 for their bolt action rifles it is available in three bullet weights and there is no big game in the world that has not been taken with this round at some time or another.
