Follow on question, I plan on being gone 3-4 days and I want to alternate between Western and Modern. Western being my 45-70 and 460 revolver (yes I know the Cowboys didn't have anything like that) my Moder being my Springfield XD 45 (I'm interested to see what my home defense loads will do) and my DPMS AR10. Which one do you think will work the best??? I'm sure they will both do fine or I wouldn't use them but what do YOU think??

Brad,
The 45/70 is a wonderful hog round. In a Marlin 1895 I use handloads with the 300 grain Nosler .45 Partition and IMR 4198. The bottom load in Nosler's handbook. I don't have any experience with the .460 but I have wacked quite a few feral hogs with various .44 mags quite successfully. I imagine the .460 would do the same with gusto!
