Maxiball weighs 370 IIRC, Maxi Hunter can be had as light as 275.
    Works OK

If I find a killer wood minty .50 cal Renegade I'll run the Musket cap ignition w 275gr Maxihunters. My Hawken w BP subs, was tricky to get to shoot well. It has the QLA and I hate that. But the gun was kinda collectible so didn't have the bbl cut down.

With the Silver Elite I thought about going for all 4 of the Hawkens.

      Silver Elite
      Cougar
      Standard
      Supreme

Buddy has a Cougar, hasn't set a price.

Lot of $ just to hang 4 commercial smoke poles on the wall.

how many grains for use with a round ball. What distance do you sight in and what grouping do you get with your chosen load. Speed Test

            Kinda depends.
            1) are you using true black powder or a substitute?
            2) what ranges do you shoot?
            3) factory (T/C Hawken) or custom build?
            4) flint lock or cap lock?

From past experience, I'd start out at about 70 grains and work up.
