Not hunting, but I have been flown into a remote fishing camp before in Canada. It was amazing. That was the first time a saw the Northern Lights.

We drove to Colorado and it took 36 hours to get there. Flying is the only way to travel on a far away hunting trip. The only bad thing about flying is your bow and gun case gets thrown around. The other bad thing is your bow or gun may not arrive when you land.

I have even owned and flown planes to get to off shore barrier islands in order to fish.

Yes, both commercial and charter all over the world. Did you have specific questions? For example, types of shipping cases, common issues or problems etc?

No. I just wondering because my dad is an aircraft mechanic.

I have taken both helicopter and float plane into the wilderness for bear hunts.

Have flown to Salt Lake City to hunt that area a couple times.

Many times both hunting and fishing. Always had great experiences except for one destroyed scope on an antelope hunt and one charter float plane stalled out and crashed in a lake with me in it (another crashed into the lake picking me up and severely delayed our departure).

Did the float plane flip upside down?

I jumped a few tarraces in my truck, while trying to get infront of my dogs.

AAM, Sorry that I did not get back to answer your question earlier. I have owned a Cessna 140 tail dragger with a 135hp Lycoming conversion and a 7EC Aeronca Champ with a 100hp 0200 Continental for beach flying. I owned two Cessna 150's, four homebuilts and one ultralite that never were landed on the beach. My father owned a Cessna 170A and an Aeronca 15AC both with 145hp 0300 continentals with which he taught me to fly off and onto the beaches. I worked for Lew Childre and got to fly his Cessna 170B with a 180hp Lycoming conversion, his Cessna 180, his 150hp Supercub on floats, and his Helio Courier to the beaches. Lew also owned several other planes which I never actually got to fly but I rode it them to get to out of the way hunting and fishing places.
