.30/06 vs. 7mm Rem Mag for elk. I know both are sufficient in about every circumstance, but I want to know what you all think!

I once heard of a man who hunted brown bears in Alaska with a 22 long caliber, he did very well and killed 11 bears with that gun, I also heard of a man that shot a grizzly bear six times with a 30-30, it maimed him almost to death, the moral here, shot placement is key, not all of it can be made up with by more gun. With that said I would go with either one, kind of a toss up between the two.
