What is the best shotgun on the market

  • #2
It depends on how deep your pockets are; but if you want something reliabe, that can take beating, keeps shooting no matter what and is useful from skeet to witetail then your best bet is the Remington 870 hands down.

Hard to beat the old 870! You can buy them at any level from entry (Express Model) on up.

I have used the 870 for years, still going strong. Also use a Mossberg 500, have not had any problems with that either.

If you want to step it up...Browning, Beretta, or CZ.

870 express or wingmaster. They both go "BOOM" when you pull the trigger.

You can't beat an 870 for durability but its not my favorite gun. My BPS has been through a lot of seasons and a lot of rounds on the skeet and trap range without too many problems. Benelli's are nice till they break down which happens more than Berettas.

I really like the Mossberg 835. I have not had any problems with it. I also have nothing bad to say about the 870.

I personally like the feel and heritage of any gun that's been in your family for more than a generation. But a good ole' rem. 870 or moss. 500never does bad either.

Well here we go again and again I vote for the Benelli's because the Beretta's are always too dirty, some part has come off, or whatever. I just keep on shooting the Benelli's and give them little support in the way of cleaning. There are better guns to look at but for autos the Benelli's have not failed me for over ten years of hard use. If I was pumping it would be an 870, how can you go wrong there.

Just about any shotgun that fits properly and shoots reliably. This is a tough question because you need to choose what you are using it for. As an all around reliable, a good pump in 12 gauge, would be a good choice. I myself prefer my old Winchester 1887 Lever Action in 12Ga 2-3/4" because its solid, heavy, reliable, and accurate.

Remington 870, been around forever and could survive a plane crash and still keep shooting.
