    No, as the rifling on the slug allows space for compression as the slug squeezes past the choke.
    Also, most slugs are slightly under bore diameter, but I think some makers are now producing fatter slugs to improve accuracy.

      I agree with 99, most slugs are a lot softer metal than the steel of the barrel so the slug gives (compresses) when it passes through the choke.

          Right on guys! Also, remember that even if wear WERE a problem, an improved cylinder is an even larger diameter choke than a modified or full. You can shoot slugs safely in a full choke.
