So I have the cleaning kit for my Model 12 and the cloth brush that threads in the rod is very dirty after the cleaning today. Is there anyway I can wash the brush? It is the same style as the brass brush only with cloth instead of brass

    I use kerosene.

I don't bother with those cotton wad cleaning tips. I just cut up scraps of old rags and stuff them down the barrel (tightly!) with liberal dose of Hoppies. Then throw them away.

Pieces of worn out towel or face cloth work best.

After soaking shotgun barrel swabs in Hoppe's #9, or any other solvent, I generally wash them under hot running water with dishwashing detergent. Dry thoroughly before replacing in your gun cleaning kit. For really stubborn stains, soak in lighter fluid or Coleman fluid before washing.

So I should just run it under hot water with dish soap? I have the orange bottle of the cleaning solution/solvent do I need anything else?

Try Break-Kleen Auto parts Cleaner in a Spray Can.
