12 guage gives you the most versatility.

12 guage. For dependability and cost savings a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 are hard to beat. As far as semi autos go, the sky is the limit. Remington, Benelli, Browning, Winchester, Beretta, take your pick.

Normaly I'd have said the 12ga. Mossberg 835(shoots 3.5 in.) but there are some pretty good 20ga's out there now too, so. I'd have to say what you like/feels good to you.

I would prefer a 12ga. I shoot the Mossberg 835 ultimag. I really like being able to shoot from 2 3/4" to 3 1/2" shells. If I were recommending a shotgun to an adult who has never shot one I'd let them shoot the 20ga and the 12ga and then go with what they are most comfortable with.

Remington 870 12 gauge should be able to take all those animals stated and will give you the most versatility.

I agree with the 12 gauge answers. Especially for versatility. but I'm a great believer in owning one of each. Most of the time, you would be better off not taking the punishment a 12 gauge hands down. Also, if you have diabetes, you run the risk of a detached retina.
