"Special Purpose" usually means matte finish and sling swivels on an 11-87. Yes, they are good guns. They are very soft shooting and there are tons of aftermarket parts available. You do have to clean an 11-87 more frequently than you do a Beretta/Browning/Benelli however.

I got one to use as a turkey gun, but the dang thing patterned a foot or more low at 40 yards. Sent it back and they kept it a while and said it was OK, but it still shot low. Kind of fixed the problem with a holosight, but in the meantime I got a Mossberg 835 and the Rem. has been a backup ever since.

They are only for special people. If you are not special, you cannot have one.
