Ultracoat is a ceramic based solution that you coat the bore with. It's measured in microns, does not effect accuracy, pressure or velocity. It does protect from rust and greatly reduces fouling especially lead and copper fouling. John Barsness wrote the instuctions that comes with the kit. You have to clean your barrel very well before you coat it. More info at www.ultacoatingsinc.com. It really shines with muzzleloaders and BP cartridge guns. I can now fire a string of shots with my Sharps 45-70 without cleaning between shots when using BP loads. It's also sold at mack's Prairie Wings (waterfowl hunting catalog). I use it on just about everything. Coated my wife's glass top stove-now burnt stuff won't stick. It is impervious to heat up to 2000 degrees.

About cleaning barrels there are lots of good products but keep in mind what works best on plastic in a shotgun barrel may not be the best thing to remove copper from a rifle barrel. Anyhow, my favorite is Barnes CR10 for removing copper and lead fouling. I use Hoppes in shotgun barrels. The Barnes is strong stuff and you will need to wash it off any bronze cleaning gear like brushes or jags. It will attack any copper or lead. It makes cleaning patches turn rather green or blue.

Here's something else. When I fire my in-line ML's a few times the breech plug was dang near impossible to screw out even after The threads had been greased before screwing it in. I cleaned and degreased the plug and dipped it in U-coat 3 times allowing 15 min intervals for drying. Now it unscrews MUCH easier.

Reply to New Weatherby Loadby jhjimboFitch, the new 'Hammer' bullet line is almost hand made/turned. Competitors and Hunters alike can not say enough about their product line.

Reply to New Weatherby Loadby jhjimbo$9 I would guess are for the large calibers - safari grade. Regular .300WbyMag probably list in the $65 a box range. I have bought some for $40 a box...
