Trivia questions for The Rifleman series.

  • #2
At deer camp I got a lot of re runs on TV. Here are some questions for The Rifleman:
What was the rifle, caliber, capacity?
In every opening episode scene but one what was the anomaly?
In the one episode opening scene what was the other anomaly?
What happened to the two rifles?

His rifle was a Winchester 1892 in 44-40 with a capacity of 11 rounds.

If I remember correctly, the number of shots heard did not match the number of times that he kocked the gun.

Oh and I think the rifle was only supposed to hold 11 shells but often fired more times without reloading as was an established standard for all guns in the movies at that time period such as the six-shooters firing 7 or 8 times.

            MAT and Santa have it.
First off, the setting for the series was some 15 or 20 years before the model 1894 came out.
The opening scene is firing the 12 rounds, but when the sound was dubbed in it has 13 shots. It was slowed down to determine that. That happens in every episode.
The one episode that is different is it is fired left handed. Connors was a leftie and it got by the producers for the one time.
The two rifles used were: one was given to Arnold Palmer and the other sold to Secretary of the Treasury. The one given to Palmer has since wound up back in the family.
