Been shooting one for 35 years now i really dont know how many whitetail. Couple of elk and several muleys. Shot placement is obviously the key but that's the same with any rifle. Flat trajectory and alot of kinetic energy on the meat end. Probably one of the best rounds out there for a rifle that wears many different hats. Hunt whitetails. Switch to mule deer at a little more range in the rockies. Elk at 400 isnt a problem. After 35 years of shooting this same gun ive never pulled the trigger and not had a harvested animal. That's good enough for me

I have been hunting with the 25-06 for over 20years. I have shot deer with one shot out to 400 yards. When I am going to hunting where I may have long shots I load the 120 grain. Under 200 yards I use 110. Very accurate. I find that a lot of hunters don't practice enough in the off season and then complain about poor hits or having to track their deer for more that a short distance.
