Laminate stock vs. synthetic stock.

I have rifles with wood laminate stocks and two with synthetic stocks. The synthetics, though entirely serviceable, are serviceable and light in weight. The wood laminates are slightly heavier but have proven very stable for me in Oregon's unpredictable (and frequently rainy) weather. I prefer the laminates for my varmint rifles and a couple of hunting rifles that I subject to field abuse.
There are some excellent synthetic/composite stocks, but the best of them are a bit expensive. I seem to gravitate toward laminates these days.
