What is the renewal fee for a New York Handgun permit?

  • #2
well i live in adirondacks of N.Y. and have a C.W.P. and i dont have to renew it . i do have to pay a small five dollar fee when i put new firearm on my permit,or sell one and remove it from my permit . it cost me fifty bucks to get all the paperwork processed to begin with years ago. and i am sure it has gone up since .

permits in new york state are kind of tricky , the rules vary from county to county here . it is your county judge that makes the rules up the way he wants them . so you can expect things to vary from county to county for all i know your county may have a renewal system, franklin county the one i live in now and hamillton county one i used to do not.

the best thing i can tell you is talk to your local village police chief , state police commander or sheriff and he can give you the exact details .

It differs from county to county.Once you have a permit it`s a lifetime. If you live near a big city it`s almost impossible.

I wouldn’t spend that much on a 10/22 but I might on a bolt gun. For that kind of money I expect some style to go with it, of the Cooper or Annie level....
