    I believe the standard 9mm is 9x18. That's 9mm bullet diameter and 18mm case length.
    Unless the ammo or gun is marked otherwise.....yes.
    It's also call 9mm Parabellum.
    We could get into a really deep discussion about cartridge designations, but I believe you'll be just fine.
    (besides, Ruger doesn't make ammo!)

      Bubba is right, except for a small typo. Standard 9mm ammo is 9x19, and the ammo boxes are often labeled 9mm Luger.
