I'm looking for the perfect all around hunting rifle caliber. It would be used for rabbits to a trophy deer maybe a black bear.

25-06! 75g V-Max for p-dogs/rabbits/squirrels to coyotes. (Shoot rabbits 1/4 inch above the skull between the ears - the shock kills them dead with no bullet hole). Shoot squirrels in the foot or shoot the tree beneath them and they die instantly from shock. I've shot hundreds of rabbits and squirrels with mine that way. You can set up on a clearing and smack them out to 300 yards this way if you get a accurate rifle. This cartridge is obviously more intended for larger game but I use mine for everything. You just need to learn how to shoot it for rabbits and squirrels. If you hit them in the chest, you won't even find a foot.
