Does the front sight on an AR get in the way if you want to put on a sight?

If your AR has the handle, the scope (if that's the "sight" you're talking about?) mounts on top of the handle. If your AR has a "flat top" receiver, the barrel should not have an elevated front sight.
If you're talking about a "rail" mounted laser/red dot sight, the front sight is a moot point.
With AR rifles and the myriad of "pieces-parts" available, there's ways to get around almost any problem.
