This is a question for Phil and Dave (The Gun Nuts). It time to start thinking about hunting and guns and such. A few articles back one of you recommended electronic hear muffs. The ones I have been using have crapped out and the backup pair is none too great. My question is: What was that brand, make, type you recommended? Didn’t I see F&S; or OL a few years back rate the digital hearing muffs? Isn’t it about time to do that again? Us old geezers need all the help we can get.

If I memory serves, I think Pro Ears Pro Tekt Mag Gold were the highest rated, and most expensive at about $250 per pair. But I believe they are prone to conk out in freezing temperatures.Comment

FirstBubba; I am part deaf now. One good muzzle blast and its all over. Those muffs are the only way I can still hunt. Game ear used to be good, now they don’t seem to last. 1 season and they start to fail.Comment

Actually, my hearing ain't so good no more either.
Since my blinds are set up where I can actually "see" deer approach rather than having to listen, I keep a set of plugs handy. I'm sure if I keep hunting, I'll eventually need enhancers, too.Comment
