I would look for a used Beretta 390.Those are hard to come by, because people hang onto them.

I would settle for a used Remington 11-87.

I don't know what your definition of "cheap" is, but I just picked up a used Browning Gold for $500 which was a great find.

Before buying CHEAP! I would buy a GOOD one USED for almost the same money+/-. lots of Browning A-5s,Remington 1100,Franchi,Francotte,IGA,High Standard,Mossberg,Noble.
      That's just a few.

Echo Treestand. With the exception of the Mossturd.

I like the 11-87. I work at a trap range and have seen too many misfires with berettas, all same model, (not sure which model) different guns. My advice is too find a gun that fits you well, I'm not aware of a bad semi auto, yet.

Stoeger 3500 added to the list, less mossburger as well.

Thanks for the imput Phil et al, I have been looking at the 11-87's, I guess my definition of cheap would be in the $300 range, so far I have not been able to find any 11-87's in that range, and all of the 1100's I am finding are chambered in 2 3/4 inch and would really like a 3 inch chamber. My hunting buddy just got a Stoeger 3500, and the Stoeger 3000 is only $400 and change new. So would you go for a cheap new Stoeger or a well used 11-87?

Well, if you do not need a 3'' mag. then you will find A LOT of very good autos out there.Countless Browning A-5's, Remington 11's,1148's,1100's, 1187's, I also see a few of those Ithaca SKB autos as well as the Ithaca 51's (not too sure about those though). I picked up a excellent used Browning B-80 (Beretta made) for my son for a song. If weight is not a problem for you, I've see magnum A-5 Brownings out there too, both FN and Miroku made. Lots of fine older guns that are sitting all lonesome in closets. I also would save a bit more cash so you have room to move if you have to.That is what I've done and would do again.

I've heard really good things about the Beretta 390! If you need a 3" gun then an 11-87 will work fine, but my 11-87 Supermag didn't cycle 2 3/4" shells very well so I sold it to buy a new gun. If you have to, then buy used by all means. I would just look over the gun really well and maybe have a gun smith look at it before the final purchase.

At $300 you'll be hard pressed to find a good pump gun let alone a semi.

No such animal as a good Mossturd autoloader.
