I am looking at a Henry lever action in .22 for the grandson. I know the rep of the company is good and all of the reviews I have seen are very positive, of course that is from the company itself. I would like to hear from actual users and both good and bad comments. If it turns out to be a good choice I might just shoot it for myself.

I purchased a henry for my son 10 years ago and it is a good 22 rifle, there has been no problems with it.It will be given to my grandson very soon for his first rifle, that being said my son did not use it much because he wasnt in to the lever action. My older son loves the gun and so does my grandson,it sounds like a good choice for you.I think Treestand made some good points and I would give them consideration.

I just bought on in December, just because it was a good deal. It is fun to shoot, accurate and have had no problems with it. The plus in todays time it chambers 22 long, 22 short and 22 lr.
I am not crazy about the sights, just different though rifl is accurate. The sights, for lack of a better comparison, have that feel of the cheap sights on guns at a carnival back way back when.
I think the reputation was good years ago and unlike other manufacturers they still uphold their sandards if not improved.

well first there are two different sizes in the Henry lever action. There is a youth version and there is a full size version. I purchased the youth version because I like the length and the way the gun fit even on my pack. first thing is the gun is amazing, I have never had any problems with shooting the gun, having the gun cycle, or be accurate. The gun has always been right on the money, and works amazing and I would suggest that anyone buy one. I havent had a problem with the gun at all to speak of to this date and I have had the gun going on 9 years.

Reply to New Weatherby Loadby jhjimboFitch, the new 'Hammer' bullet line is almost hand made/turned. Competitors and Hunters alike can not say enough about their product line.

Reply to New Weatherby Loadby jhjimbo$9 I would guess are for the large calibers - safari grade. Regular .300WbyMag probably list in the $65 a box range. I have bought some for $40 a box...
