    Unless you define long range as 350 yards, I don't think the 'o6 (any of them) are really long range rifles in the current sense of the word. I define a long range rifle as one that retains enough velocity to have a minimum amount of drop out past 400 yards that one can compensate for by reasonable holdover or ballistic reticle and a round that retains 1500 ft. lbs. of energy out to its intended "long range". Assuming a proficient shooter is the operator....

      The WinMag would have made sense to me... the 30-06 does not.
