Washington Times says if the sequester happens the NICS system will slow down. The problem is after three days if a dealer does not hear back from a request he may go ahead with the sale. Now the system is doing about 43,000 checks per day.

The sequester is a bunch of hubbub over nothing! They are cutting a miniscule amount of the overall government spending. I vote for a 10% cut across the board, make it fair, level the playing field because the rich government contractors and officials have been doing to well for too long it's time for them to pay their fair share!

From what I understand, there are not actually ANY cuts!
It was explained to me that, for example, a Dept was budgeted for $10 billion last year and was expecting $10.6 this year, because of the sequester, only gets $10 billion. Basically, they just don't get a "raise"! The spending and deficit goes on unhindered.

The sequester is about 2% of a $4 TRILLION budget - chump change.
Nothing like what is coming down the pike. CBO just released a report that says obama care will add $6.2 TRILLION to the long term deficit. Something obama said he would not sign if it "cost one single dime more"
Then on March 27th there will be another "continuing resolution" to kick the can down the road some more.

Even if the smaller than expected growth in government spending takes effect on March 1, the actual effects won't even be seen until late April. Growth won't shrink until then. So, the chicken littles will frantically cry "the sky is falling" now but I bet the politicians will figure out how to get everyone their share of the pork pie by April.

Have Congress participate in Social Security and Obamacare and all laws they pass. If it could be done with a amendment that would be great.
Be careful, if a Constitutional Convention is required, there are other changes some groups desire and would take advantage of a convention if they could. Kinda like opening a can of worms that might have unintended consequences.
