I stopped at local gunshop today and found out that the town of Oxford PA had a town meeting called to on whether or not to support Mr. Obama's gun policy.Over 600 residents came to have their say on the matter,600+ no votes not one for!Oxford is a small town in southeastern PA where can pull into the Acme parking lot right next to an Amish buggy.Town council voted against 5 to 2,one lady told the council if you vote this in you won't be here after next election to vote again! Kudos to the people of Oxford PA!!

The two 'aye' voters on the Town Council must have been drunk. Off with their heads!

It may have been these two with their agenda that called for this vote, just another case of a few knowing what best for all of us! They did not!

The actions of local small Towns are negated by those of the State and Federal government. Thus, an empty effort.

Please provide a source for this story. I find it hard to believe that out of 600 people there was not one that favored the gun control policy.

jay - Recall that this happened in Pennsylvania where, in the last election, there were a few precincts reporting more votes for Obama than there were registered voters, and not one single vote for Romney.

Jay the source comes from some of the towns people who attended, talked to a man today and he told me that so many turned out they could not all enter the building! After the meeting the mayor tried to slip away only to run into residents who did not get a chance to voice their opinions, the town police escorted the mayor away. The towns people did not vote, they stop their elected council from voting yes.I was also told that it was over three hundred not six but it was all pro gun not one person there voice support for any sort of gun ban.Think about this a small town getting hundreds of people out to voice their opinion,to let the mayor know this is not what we want. The vote 5 to 2 it DOES NOT PASS!!!Pig hunter I guess the Boston tee party was an empty effort also,a small town,a small group of people who said no this isn't going down without a fight!A winning streak starts with one small win.
