I haven't bought a rifle of any sort in my entire sixty years. Dad gave me the two hunting rifles I currently use and they were both well used when I acquired them. I bought a new Browning A-5 shotgun in 1973 and it's the last gun I purchased, the only one new, and possibly the last gun I'll acquire in this lifetime. But I have probably used those guns more than most of you will in the next couple of lifetimes. Don't see the need in owning a lot of guns. But that's just me.

I have been experimenting with several new .375 caliber very low drag bullets and am intrigued by their accuracy. I may not get to it but I'd like to put a highly accurate 10 twist long range .375 target barrel on my rifle. I am trying to decide what cartridge to use to power it. I am thinking of necking up the .338 Lapua.
I'm also modifying my .300 Dakota by putting a muzzle brake on it. I have always said that I would never use a muzzle brake but I am trying to practice with high energy loads so I can have peak energy at 1000 yards. It is hurting my shoulder and negatively impacting my accuracy. I'm putting on a removable brake so I can crank it off when I hunt. I sure hope it does not negatively affect my accuracy but am anxious to see.
