looking to buy a AR any suggestions

  • #2
You may be a bit late on that one. There is not a single AR or round of .223 to be had in my entire county. I bought the last box of .22 lr this afternoon. I am hearing that there is a severe shortage everywhere. Simple economics, supply and demand. The politicians hysterical reaction to recent criminal acts have threatened the constitutional rights of law abiding citizens causing demand to greatly exceed supply. That same brain trust in DC is still debating right now to determine if any American civilian will ever be able to buy an AR again. Just more of that "change" they felt we needed.

Wait about 6 months until the panic is over or pay 3x list for one now.

I agree with WAM, and I will add that I've heard S&W have been returned less than others. Cheers.

Yep, sounds like you'd need a magic wand and/or a treasure chest to "pick up" an AR right now.

Understand LaPierre is supposed to address Congress today. Wish I could listen in without being there!

Yep..My rifle is going for exactly 3 x what I paid for it 5 months ago. Find yourself a good lower, the best you can afford and go from there. Daniel Defense,(LMT,barrett, remington)(LAR,double star, noveske),(CMT,stag, wilson & colt)
(MMS, spike's tactical, alexander) there are really only 4 makers of lowers that make for the other companies LMT-CMT-LAR & MMS personally I would stay away from the poly frames and anything stamped. And stick with Mil-spec so you can find parts in the future as well.

That's a Senate panel, not Congress!

There is no doubt that a .30-06 Spgfld is more than adequate to actually slay a whitetail.
