Amanda Ripely, who wrote the "Your brain..." portion of the article, gives us a very interesting insight into the workings of the human brain in an actual shooting situation.
Much of this was already well known, and frequently discussed by Massad Ayoob in his magazine articles.
But we are left with the implication that most civilians would choke, or react irrationally, in a shooting situation. Such is clearly not the case, as regularly reported in "The Armed Citizen" column of The American Rifleman."
